Abstract

Shenoy et al (2018) administered Chopachini orally to the patients of pyospermia (Puyaretasa) and reported that it significantly reduced the amorphous matter, viscosity, auto-agglutination, round cells, head abnormal sperms and abnormal sperms of semen but showed no significant effect on the other parameters of the semen analysis. Therefore, other drug- Sariva (Hemidesmus indicus) was given orally for 45 days to the patients of Puyaretas (pyospermia), which significantly reduced the auto-agglutination, round cells, amorphous matter and semen viscosity, but showed no significant effect on the other semen parameters. The therapy provided complete remission to 50.0% patients, marked improvement to 25% patients and mild improvement also to 20% patients. Comparison of the results of Sariva with Chopachini reported by Shenoy et al. (2018) showed that the relief provided by Chopachini to the patients of pyospermia (Puyaretas) was far better than Sariva. Key Words: Puyaretas, pyospermia, Sariva, (Hemidesmus indicus), sperm abnormalities, male infertility
