Rasashastra the branch of Ayurveda Pharmaceutics which deals with the art of converting raw materials of mineral and aquatic origin into medicine, also focuses on the same motto. Druti is a form where the drug is brought into a liquid form; thereby it remains in the liquid state even after cooling. The features of it are; it is more lustrous than the original crude drug, lighter, remains in liquid state, doesn’t adhere to the container and has a quality to amalgamate with Mercury. It is one such form which is also useful in Lohasiddhi (transformation of lower metal to noble metals) above and beyond its efficacy on dehasiddhi (Healthy body to attain salvation). It is a form that is in void at present. In the present work an attempt was made to collect information about various methods of preparation of Druti kalpana. An extensive literature search was done in both print and electronic media as a result of which as many as 12 druti kalpanas were found which can be prepared from four different methods.
